Common Questions

What areas do you serve?

We serve homeowners across East Tennessee, including Blount, Knox, Sevier, Monroe, Loudon, Anderson, Union, Grainger, and Jefferson counties. If you are nearby and unsure, reach out with your address and we will tell you honestly whether we can take the job.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Blue Ridge Brothers is licensed and insured. We are also veteran co-owned and family operated.

How does the process work?

Start with a conversation online or by phone. We walk your property, talk through goals and site conditions, then provide a clear estimate before work begins. During the job we keep you informed, and we walk the finished project with you before we call it done.

Do you give free quotes?

Yes. There is no obligation to move forward after a site walk and estimate. We would rather give you a clear scope up front than surprise you later.

How soon can you start?

Timing depends on season, weather, and our current schedule. Share your preferred window when you contact us and we will give you a realistic range—not a promise we cannot keep.

Why do landscaping and hardscape projects cost what they cost?

Access, grading, drainage, materials, slope, and how much site prep is required all change the work. We do not publish cookie-cutter prices because two yards that look similar on a map can need very different builds. Your estimate reflects what your property actually needs.

Do you handle drainage and retaining walls together?

Often, yes. In East Tennessee, clay soil and hillside lots mean water and grade usually belong in the same conversation. We design retaining walls, drainage, and finished surfaces so they support each other instead of fighting later.

Can you work around an existing patio, deck, or landscape?

Yes. Many projects start with what you already have—repairing drainage, tying in new hardscape, installing sod after grading, or adding outdoor living features beside a deck or patio.

What should I prepare before you visit?

A rough idea of your goals helps: what feels broken, what you want to use the space for, and any photos of problem areas after rain. Property access notes (gates, pets, steep driveways) are useful too.

How do I get started?

Tell us about your property. We’ll listen, walk the site when it makes sense, and help you figure out what’s possible.
